Beat Jerry - Thanksgiving Edition

Gobble, gobble.
Don't know about you but my family has a great Thanksgiving tradition. Because we all still live in Orlando, we get together at my house for the feast. The special Thanksgiving splatter mat is lovingly placed beneath my chair at the dinner table. Then we all start eating. After a while all the others are done and gather round to watch me keep eating. Eventually I finally fall off my chair and then my son hoses me down.
That's family.
Last week:
Couldn't beat Marc Daniels (Is it OK to curse someone on Thanksgiving?) but did beat most of you with an 11-3 effort straight up (100-60 for season which makes the math easy -- 5/8ths or 62.5 percent. Goal is 65 percent by end of season.) And 7-5-2 against the spread (66-67-7 for season. Goal is to beat .500. I have simple goals.)
Thanksgiving Day
Green Bay (10-0) at Detroit (7-3) -- Cheeseheads favored by 6.5 --
The Lions have won once in last 10 years on Turkey Day and that was in 2003 against the 'Heads. Let's be honest: I've searched for a logical reason to pick the Lions and can't find it. The 'Heads should win -- but the citizens of Detroit deserve a reason to feel thankful today. Here's hoping they get one.
Jerry says: In a Give-Thanks-for-Upsets Upset Special, Lions by 3.
Miami (3-7) at Dallas (6-4) -- Cowboys favored by 7 --
There are some logical reasons to think the "streaking" Fish can pull off the upset. Their defense is playing great and, more than that, it's the Cowboys, who have a knack for losing when they should win. Hey, we all know how much I've supported the Fish over the years.
Jerry says: In a Get-On-the-Fish-Cart Upset Special, Fish by 7.
San Francisco (9-1) at Baltimore (7-3) -- Ravens favored by 3.5 --
Don't understand why the NFL did this to the Niners. They had Monday off and had to travel on Wednesday. That left Tuesday for preparations, while the Ravens were at home Sunday so had no travel involved. With two good teams, that logistical advantage cannot be overlooked.
Jerry says: Lucky Ravens by 14.
That's it for now, gang, 'cause it's time to eat. Will post the rest of the predictions Friday or as soon as I wake up.
Seriously -- happy Thanksgiving to all.
