Beat Jerry - Conference Championships Preview

Who do I want to see represented in the Super Bowl?
The. University. Of. Central. Florida.
San Francisco -- UCF superlative DE Bruce Miller is the Niners' starting rookie fullback. He's had numerous fine moments this season despite learning a new position on the other side of the field (and we won't mention that moment when he forgot you could only have 11 men to a side). If San Fran goes to Indianapolis, Miller will be a popular player on Media Tuesday.
Baltimore -- The Ravens took UCF OT Jah Reid in the third round and, fortunately, nobody tried to convert him into a cornerback. He's seen a lot of playing time and, like Miller, could be going to the Super Bowl in his first pro season.
So that's what I want.
Last week:
Unfortunately all my records were lost in a kitchen fire along with my hot dogs and eclairs. So let's move on.
Baltimore (13-4) at New England (14-3) -- Pats favored by 7 --
Admittedly, picking the Ravens is a hard sell because of Thomas O'Brady. I see the Pats scoring 24 and have a hard time figuring out how the Ravens will get at least 25 but that's my pick and I'm sticking to it. After all, there is Ray Rice and, hopefully, the Ravens will use him until his legs fall off. And Joe Flacco (with his receivers) will not be pressed by the Patsies. Plus Ed Reed really needs to make his play match his mouth. Plus the Patsies' schedule was a joke and they have not beaten a team with a winning record. Plus the Packers had an equally great offense and equally weak defense -- and they have already packed their bags and gotten out of Green Bay. Win one for Jah.
Jerry says: In a Edgar-Poe Upset Special, Quote the Ravens, win by 4.
East Rutherford Giants (11-7) at San Francisco (14-3) -- Niners favored by 2 --
Feel much better about this one. Rain should help the conservative, ball-hawking Niners. They have covered the spread in every home game this year. Their LBs will shut down the Giants'.running game putting enormous pressure on Eli Manning. And most of all, they should dominate special teams. Dom-i-nate.
Jerry says: Niners by 5.
As it is written so shalt it be.
Book 'em, Dano.
